Citicoline and Piracetam Tablets – Citicoline+piracetam is used to treat acute stroke. A stroke is a serious, life-threatening medical condition that happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off. Like all organs, the brain needs the oxygen and nutrients provided by blood to function properly. If the supply of blood is restricted or stopped, brain cells begin to die, leading to stroke.

Citicoline+piracetam is a combination of two medicines: Citicoline and Piracetam. Citicoline repairs the neuronal membrane and cholinergic neurons by increasing phosphatidylcholine synthesis and potentiating the production of acetylcholine, respectively. It reduces the build-up of free fatty acids at the site of stroke-induced nerve damage. Piracetam protects the brain and nervous system against shortness of oxygen. It also improves the activity of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine, which helps in communication between brain cells.

How to Take CitiScot PM800 Tablet?

You are advised to take Citicoline+Piracetam as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on our medical condition. Swallow the tablet/capsule as a whole with water. Do not crush, break, or chew it.

It minimizes the accumulation of free fatty acids from stroke-damaged nerves since it promotes the synthesis of phospholipids. Piracetam prevents hypoxia, that is, a deficiency of oxygen, acting on the brain and nervous system. It also helps an important chemical that transmits signals between brain cells called acetylcholine to be more active.

Precautions of CitiScot PM800 Tablet

• Do not give Citicoline + Piracetam Tablets to your children. Thus, before using it on your child, consider talking to your doctor about the medication.
• It may interact with anti-Parkinson medicines (levodopa, carbidopa, entacapone), nootropic drugs (centrophenoxine), anti-coagulants (acenocoumarol), anti-epileptic drugs (carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbitone, valproate), and thyroid hormones.
• Avoid taking Alcohol when using this medicine as it may cause excessive sleeping.
• Inform your doctor before intake if you have the condition of intracranial haemorrhage, haemorrhage, gastrointestinal ulcers, haemostasis, cerebral haemorrhage, or severe renal and hepatic impairment.
• It may lead to nervousness and shakiness. Do not operate any machinery or a vehicle while using it.
