Uses: Metoprolol Succinate is used in the treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure), Angina (heart-related chest pain), Arrhythmia, heart attack, and migraine.
Metomelt-25 – This medication contains Metoprolol Succinate 23.75mg which is a beta-blocker. It is a type of medicine called a cardioselective beta-blocker. Beta-blockers work by blocking the effects of adrenaline (epinephrine) on your heart. This medication helps by lowering your heartbeat and lowering your blood pressure.
Like other medications, the Metomelt-25 tablet also contains some side effects that do not require any medical attention and disappear over time when your body adjusts to the medication. But if you experience these side effects persistently then consult with your doctor and take medical advice.
Serious side effects:
Metoprolol Succinate is a long-acting beta blocker that primarily targets the heart. It works by decreasing the heart rate and increasing the heart’s efficiency in pumping blood throughout the body.
Take this drug by mouth, with water. Take it as instructed on the prescription label, at the same time each day. You can consume it with or without food. You should always approach it in the same way. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting with your doctor. Take this drug by mouth, with water. Do not stop taking this medication suddenly, as it can worsen your condition.
If you miss a dose of Metomelt-25 then take it as soon as you can but if the time is almost for your next dose then take only that dose. Do not consume double or extra doses of Metomelt-25.
Heart Problem – If you are suffering from heart-related disease such as a slow heartbeat, and have a history of heart block.
Lung Problems – If you are suffering from Lung problems, such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Then consult with your doctor before taking this medication.
Liver – If you are suffering from liver disease then do not take this medication. Consult with your doctor before taking this medication.
Kidney – If you have a kidney problem then inform your doctor before taking this medication. Your doctor will recommend this medication with some caution.
Allergy – If you have any kind of allergy or a history of allergic reactions to beta-blockers. Then inform your doctor before taking this medication.
Drive – Do not drive after taking this medication. This medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these effects.
Alcohol – Avoid alcohol while taking this medication. Alcohol can increase the side effects of this medication.
Diabetes – If you are a diabetic patient then inform your doctor before taking this medication. This medication may hide the signs of low blood sugar. If you have diabetes, monitor your blood sugar levels regularly.
