TENETOR M500 – Teneligliptin + metformin hydrochloride belongs to anti-diabetic medications. TENETOR M500 is a combination of two medications namely Teneligliptin + Metformin hydrochloride which is an anti-diabetic medication. It works by slowing the absorption of glucose by the intestines, increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin, and reducing the liver’s capacity to manufacture glucose. Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor that increases the release of insulin from the pancreas while reducing hormones that raise blood sugar in the body. This decreases blood sugar levels both after meals and during fasting. This combined medication provides better control of blood sugar.
TENETOR M500 is recommended for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in conjunction with a nutritious diet and consistent exercise. Teneligliptin and metformin hydrochloride are given jointly when metformin is not enough to control a patient’s diabetes. By improving the body’s responsiveness to insulin, this drug helps the body to return to normal. Metformin tablets are especially recommended for releasing the drug gradually into the body regularly.
Like other medications, TENETOR M500 also contains some harmful effects that do not require any medical attention but disappear when your body adjusts to the medication. But if you persistently experience these side effects then inform your doctor.
Teneligliptin + Metformin hydrochloride tablets should ideally be taken after meals or as prescribed by your physician. Swallow the pill with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing the medicine. Your doctor will choose the appropriate therapy dose and duration for you based on your age, body weight, and health. You should not stop taking Teneligliptin + Metformin hydrochloride tablets unless your doctor gives you special instructions to do so.
Patients who have known allergies to any of the medication’s components or excipients should avoid taking teneligliptin with metformin. Patients with severe liver dysfunction, congestive heart failure, lactic acidosis, or diabetic ketoacidosis may also be at risk when using this medicine.
Metformin increases the body’s sensitivity to insulin (a hormone involved in glucose metabolism). This allows our body cells to utilize a greater amount of the circulating blood glucose. Furthermore, it inhibits glucose synthesis by the liver and lowers its absorption in the bloodstream.
Teneligliptin regulates blood sugar levels by inhibiting the action of an enzyme called dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-4, which lowers insulin release in the body. It regulates blood sugar levels and improves glycemic management in people with type II diabetes.
